tbf i think the bowling stocks are pretty good. Woakes (man of the series for me) will give us another year or two over here, Tongue has looked ok and will improve for going to Notts, there's a couple of lads at Surrey Atkinson & lawes (M4E will know more about them - but Atkinson is quick, and not brittle), plus all the other perma-injured players like Archer, Stone & Wood if you can get some of them fit. Sam Cook won't get a look in because he's only 81-82 mph, but he has a career average of 19.76 for over 200 wickets on ptiches that are made for Simon Harmer; so there's absolutely no doubt he would go well in england. And I'm certain I'm leaving out a few like the Overton brothers, pennington (the other lad who is off to Notts). There's a lot of talent out there.

Batting worries me slightly more - we prepared flat pitches here to counteract our failings and the aussie bowling attack. But whenever it moved they were absolutely hopeless. Would have won 5-0 with normal english pitches.

Amazing stuff. From 2-0 down and only denied a series victory by the rain.

That's why test cricket is number one form of cricket... no other version gets near.... brilliant captivating series...

What a way to bow out.

His last ever hit was a 6 and he takes the final wicket. Will never forget that mad day at Trent Bridge when he took 8/15.

Think the emotion papers over some big cracks for us, me made much harder work of the series than we needed to.

My boy in Perth reckons Cummins is in for a rough ride from the media over there when they get home, the feeling is he's out of his depth as captain.

Fuck me - that was some final session, that!

Superb bowling and some excellent catches after the debacle of Stokes earlier.

Proper crowd that, too. For cricket, anyway.

Despite all of the mistakes, dropped catches and careless batting, we managed to get back from 2-0 down and stop the cheating, whining fecks from winning here for the first time in 22 years! Love it. Let that record continue for another 22 years.

God knows who replaces Broad and Anderson in the long-term. Let the search begin.

So his last knock with the bat he whacks a six off his last ball.. his last ball bowled ever... a wicket to win a Ashes test... FMOBs... as they used to say to Beefy....

who writes your scripts??

The greatest ending ever?

Carey - a known cheat - bottles it to lose it single handedly for his team, having been caught by the man he cheated with the delivery bowled by an all time great with his last ever delivery in cricket.

Well done Carey and Cummings you cheated and wound up the Lions.
I just knew that would come back to bite you on the arse.

If the convicts had batted even remotely purposefully in the first session on day 2 they'd have won an hour ago

Fuck that, sbbb. This years balls are shit and new ball has done nothing for either team all series. We'll keep the one with the large, pronounced seam, ta very much

Humble Chris Woakes humbles Australia

One wicket and then send for Wood.

Ah sorry, missed manners' post that started it

As for Sven, I think its a shame he's not here. Would love his view on the nice shiny, rock hard ball they gave us yesterday. Quite a lot of whinging coming from Australia right now.

Tricky decision on whether to take the new ball, innit?
